Tour 1

Tour 1 • Art, Food, and Spirits – Our passions for creativity, fine cuisine and top shelf spirits will be energized. Get ready for a fun day traveling through beautiful Hill Country backroads. The discoveries along the way begin with spending time with a well-known local artist, Kathleen Marie, in her country studio. Explore her amazing wildlife art and creative architecture, along with that of several artist friends. Kat's process is pyrography, a blending of realistic rendering and abstract wood grain. Wine this early?! Our next stop is a nationally known artist in his home studio, Peter Mangan. Learn how glass and metal can turn into amazing sculpture, architecture, and jewelry when formed by a creative mind and heart. Wine and light fare will accompany our talk and tour. Now we need lunch! Let's visit a popular hangout for both locals and travelers. Albert Ice House and the adjacent dance hall have a history dating back to the early 1900s. Our bartender will provide us with a brief history while enjoying our picnic lunch, either on the bar deck or under the beautiful trees. Prior to ending our trip, we will visit Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first and oldest legal (?!) bourbon whiskey distillery in Texas. Our tour will include a bourbon spiked drink, a flatbed trailer ride to the distillery, and an amazing tour and talk about the history and process. And did we say shopping was available at each stop??

Tour 2

Tour 2 • Art, Food, and, Spirits – This tour has taste bud teasers and eye candy! We will start the day with a stop at Texas Hill Country Olive Company for a private tour of both production and the orchard as well as tastings of their delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars. From there, we continue along the back roads to Bell Springs Winery for a private presentation of chef prepared small bites paired with wines and a private tour led by the winemaker. A perfect beginning to our continuing food fest as we enjoy our picnic lunch provided by Redbud Cafe on the beautiful grounds of the winery. To keep the momentum going, we will stop by Greater Goods Roasting Company for coffee tastings from around the world as well as a tour of this boutique facility. Best coffee ever! Sated as we will be, we head for the eye candy at Texcetera. This gallery houses “art from the hearts of Texans.” On the patio of this quaint, historic building, we will hear presentations by four of the artists about their craft and journey as an artist. There will then be time to browse the works of all of the artists represented while enjoying refreshments. Be sure to have your wallet as few leave this gallery empty handed! And did we say shopping was available at each stop??
